Who we are:
Roger and Thea are in their late 40's and have 2 children Ben, age 14, and Maura, age 7. We don't watch TV, we eat organic food, we laugh a lot.

Roger runs his structural engineering business on site. www.caimanstructuralengineering.com
His interests include mountain biking and tinkering. He is very helpful with building and fixing things.

Thea offers Waldorf-inspired homeschool classes on-site. She is also a singer and a farmer. She publishes original teaching materials through her website: www.cedarwaxwing.net
She is active with the Local Food Coalition and meets regularly with a Biodynamic study group. She sings with a small choir and never misses a contra dance or a song circle if she can help it.

Ben is completing 7th grade at Yuba River Charter School, a public Waldorf school. His interests are baseball, fishing, mountain biking, snowboarding, and inventing things.

Maura is completing 1st grade at Yuba River Charter School. Her interests are horses, and crafts, raising baby goats, singing, and floating posicle stick "kayaks" down the nearby irrigation ditch.

Financial plan:  $110 k down and $10 toward the building of the Community Room. Monthly payment a percentage of the mortgage based on square footage of dwelling.
We are currently restructuiring our loan, so please contact us for the finer details.

Decision-making:  For major decisions we will employ Formal Consensus as outlined in the book, “On Conflict and Consensus” by C.T. Butler; adapting the process to meet our needs. The basis for our decisions will be our Guiding Principles (see below).
www.consensus.net

Conflict resolution:  Based on Nonviolent Communication, aka, Compassionate Communication as developed by Marshall Rosenburg.
www.cnvc.org and our Guiding Principles (see below).

The farm: The garden and  orchards are managed organically/Biodynamically www.biodynamics.com
We have 2 Alpine goats: Star, 10 years old, great tasting milk, and Aldo, The Friendly Goat, who pulls a cart. In the future we are looking to purchase a Dexter cow and share the neighbors pasture in exchange for milk. We are looking into raising rabbits for meat. We have kept bees in the past and would like to do so again. We have lived here less than 2 years and are still settling in.

Educaional center: We are in an excellent location to offer education for a cooperative culture. One friend holds her Native Skills classes here. Thea offers adult education, homeschool support,  and summer camps, .

Land Stewardship:  We refer to principles of Permaculture and Biodynamics.
